Package Insurance Policy

1. Policy purpose

This policy regulates how SS EXPRESS DELIVERY S.R.L. ensures the packages transported under urban/local courier service in order to protect senders and recipients against potential losses or damages.

2. Types of insurance offered

a) Standard insurance (included)

All transported packages automatically benefit from standard insurance at no additional cost, up to 299 lei per package.

This insurance applies under the following conditions:

  • The package is properly packed by the sender;
  • There are no visible signs of damage upon pick-up;
  • The package is lost or destroyed solely due to the carrier's fault.
b) Additional insurance (at declared value)

For packages with a value greater than 299 lei, the sender can opt for additional insurance based on a declaration of value.

  • The rate for this insurance is 1% of the declared value;
  • The additional insurance is valid only if:
    • The value was declared before the package was picked up;
    • The package is properly wrapped ann packed;
    • Transportation and liability conditions are accepted.

3. Exclusions from compensation

The insurance DOES NOT cover:

  • Packages with improper or visibly damaged packaging upon pickup;
  • Prohibited products under current legislation or company policy (e.g., valuables, money, alcohol, hazardous substances);
  • Losses or damages caused by external factors independent of the courier's will (e.g., natural disasters, vandalism, accidents without direct fault);
  • Packages for which there is no evidence of pickup and/or delivery (e.g., signature, photo, report of findings).

4. Notification and Compensation Procedure

To initiate a claim for compensation, the sender must:

  1. Notify the company within a maximum of 48 hours from delivery/non-delivery;
  2. Send proof of the product's value (invoice, receipt, contract, etc.) via email;
  3. Provide pictures and a description of the package and packaging;
  4. Complete the complaint form sent by our company.

Compensation is granted within a maximum of 14 working days from the validation of the request.

5. Internal Guarantee Fund

In the absence of an external supplemental insurance policy, the company may use an internal guarantee fund, intended to compensate customers in proven cases of loss or damage to packages, according to the conditions mentioned above.

6. Final clauses

By using the delivery services of SS EXPRESS DELIVERY S.R.L., the customer automatically accepts this Insurance Policy. The company reserves the right to modify the policy without prior notice, and the updated version will be available on the website.
